A more security-conscious society and concern about personal freedoms should contribute to the increase in demand in the criminal justice field. Demand for police officers, private security, correctional officers, security officers, investigators, and prevention and juvenile service officers is expected to be generated by the fear of crime, the need to protect information and property and the need for society to feel safe. Opportunity for public service and law enforcement is attractive to many. The jobs are challenging and involve personal responsibility. Students in the Business Administration-Criminal Justice program will have a diverse education. The curriculum will include not only criminal justice courses but also communications, computer, and management courses. The curriculum helps to prepare students for entry-level careers in law enforcement, corrections, probation, security, loss prevention, and other aspects of the legal system.
Students enrolled in the Criminal Justice program during the day should be aware that they will be required to attend evening classes for most concentration requirements to complete the diploma.
