I debated between LSB and a community college because of the tuition cost difference. I decided upon LSB because the classes are smaller and company tuition reimbursement helped cover the cost. I am creative and analytical at the same time and really wanted to learn more about the creative technical end of business. My hope is to blend my new education with my prior Bachelors Degree in a new, professional way.

Since I work full time, I wanted to take one class at a time which suited my objectives and I was paying out of pocket and didn’t want loans. I decided to enroll in the Diploma Program to improve my skill set in web design. I feel I might need it for work and possibly a change of career later on.

I think the Tech Support program is a great program – I am ½ way through with it. The Instructors takes the extra time to make sure all understand the concepts. LSB is like a family. Everyone here gets along with everyone else – no matter their status in life or where they came from – every student wants their fellow student to succeed. With this attitude – everyone succeeds. I came from another school and LSB is far more personal and caring in their approach and their determination to see you succeed.

A nice Admissions Representative explained how I could be successful at a career in Tech Support. I didn’t quite believe it but she felt strongly that after interviewing me – I had a real shot at it. I finished the program and I feel so accomplished that I not only have skills in how to troubleshoot and set up computers in a business, but hold a college diploma as well.

It took me a year to get up the courage to start school. I knew I had the intelligence and drive for pursuing a college degree, but I wasn’t quite ready in my personal life. After working at jobs I did not like – I finally decided the time was NOW and I am loving the tech program. The teachers are great.

The thought of going back to school after earning a Bachelor’s and Masters in Fine Arts was daunting. I felt having 2 higher degrees would set me up for life. But, the marketplace for creative people is changing so rapidly and I felt I needed to learn new technically creative skills to make myself more marketable and employable into the future. It was great that LSB was able to review my college transcripts and transfer over some credits previously earned so I didn’t have to take classes like English and Psychology again.

I started my education at LSB in Marketing and finished with a Computer Graphics & Design diploma. Switching majors was easy because there was not the red tape of a big school.

When I first interviewed with Admissions, I had a job and was nervous about starting another college after prior attempts without earning a degree. I started by taking one or two individual classes and then decided to pursue Computer Graphics & Design Diploma program. I’m now a “program student” and hope to finish 2010.

I enrolled the first day I came for a visit! I was so excited about the program and how the school was structured. It is just an excellent school all around with great, great teachers.

When I met with Admissions I was unemployed. I had earned Bachelor’s Degree years prior, but was weak in computer applications and typing and needed to brush up on my skills to have access to better jobs. My Representative made me feel anything was possible for me with hard work.
