The collection is curriculum-based and consists of print and electronic materials.
- eBooks can be accessed through the ProQuest eBook Central, GVRL, and Skillsoft Books databases in the LIRN database collection.
- Books in our circulating collection may be borrowed for two weeks with renewals.
- Books in the reference collection do not circulate without the librarian’s permission.
- Past issues of our periodicals circulate for two weeks.
- Current issues of the periodicals do not circulate.
- Reserve materials circulate for the period of time specified by the instructor or librarian.
Use of the resources and services of the Lansdale School of Business Academic Resource Center, housed at the main campus, becomes a critical component in the learning process. The LSB ARC is an attractive and comfortable room that is open daily for student research, individual and small-group study. Students are encouraged to use the print and electronic resources of the library, which include books, periodicals, online resources, and remote access to subscription databases. Students are encouraged to use the computer workstations to access network software.
Lansdale School of Business subscribes to two online databases: LIRN and Fastcase. The LIRN virtual library provides students with millions of peer-reviewed and full-text journal, magazine, and newspaper articles, e-books, podcasts, audio, and video resources to support their academic studies from Gale Cengage, ProQuest, EBSCO, Gale Virtual Reference, Books 24×7, eLibrary, and more, covering topics for General Education, Business, and Medical programs. Fastcase is a legal database that incorporates Lois Law and offers access to full text federal and state documents such as case law, statutory law, constitutions, administrative law, court rules and other authority for all 50 states and D.C. and U.S. Supreme Court cases and rules, U.S. Code, etc.
Remote access to LIRN, and Fastcase is available to current students with a User ID/ Password provided by the librarian.
In addition to the online database subscriptions, students are encouraged to use appropriate Internet resources. Instruction is provided for researching, evaluating, and using information found on the Internet. The information provided on the LSB Library web site is obtained from a number of sources. While every reasonable effort is made to keep this website accurate and up-to-date, the LSB cannot guarantee the accuracy of all of the information, especially information provided by external sources. Books in the General Collection and back issues of periodicals may be borrowed. There are no fines assessed for overdue materials; however, a fee will be charged for lost materials or materials not returned within the term. That fee consists of the replacement cost of the book or periodical and a $10 service charge for ordering, cataloging, and processing.
